Chernivtsi Sympathize with the Polish People

Chernivtsi City Mayor Mykola Fedoruk on behalf of the Chernivtsi community sent telegrams of condolence to the Polish people in connection with the disaster of the presidential Tu-154, where died President of Poland Lech Kaczynski and his wife, senators, ambassadors, heads of the military authorities, representatives of the clergy and the public, to Consul General of Poland in Lviv Grzegorz Opalinski, Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine Jacek Kluczkowski and President of the twin-city of Chernivtsi Konin Kazimierz Palash.
"Please accept my deepest condolences for the tragic death of the President of Poland Mr. Lech Kaczynski, his wife and government delegation to your country. This is also a great loss for Ukraine. In these difficult days of mourning residents of Chernivtsi are mourning with you together with the whole world. May they rest in peace" – said Mykola Fedoruk in the telegram of condolences.
April 11 in the Polish National House memorial meeting was held with the leaders of national cultural societies, representatives of the local authorities, Polish community, and intelligentsia of the land to commemorate people who died 70 years ago during the Katyn tragedy and terrible plane crash near Smolensk.
April 12, at 18.30 in the Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross a memorial Mass was held, where Chernivtsi citizens could honor the memory of the deceased, share grief and sorrow of irreparable loss to the Polish people, express condolences to the Polish community of the city.
