Mykola Fedoruk Is Reelected The Head of Chernivtsi Regional Office of AUC
General meeting with participation of authorized representatives of 16 Office members reelected Mayor of Chernivtsi Mykola Fedoruk for the new term as the head of the Chernivtsi regional office of the Association of Ukrainian Cities AUC. According to the Association of Ukrainian Cities statute, head of the regional office is elected for the term of two years and is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Cities government. Kitsman Mayor Bohdan Melnychenko, Novoselytsya Mayor Maryna Nikorych and Hlyboka Mayor Konstyantyn Horyachka were elected assistants of the head of the Chernivtsi regional office of the Association of Ukrainian Cities. Meeting heard and corroborated the statement about the work of the regional office of Association of Ukrainian Cities in 2008 and the 2009 action plan. Concerning the initiative to establish a separate NGO - the Association of Ukrainian Towns, participants of the meeting unanimously recognized residence of towns in two separate NGOs to be purposeless.
German Bank Took An Interest In The Investment Project Chernivtsivodokanal
Issue of collaboration and investing of the investment project that will be fulfilled in Chernivtsi in the sphere of water supply and drainage system was discussed on February, 18 at the meeting of Mayor Mykola Fedoruk with the delegates of the German bank KfW technical mission. The mission visits Chernivtsi for the second time. This time concrete collaboration mechanisms, technical and financial issues were discussed. Lead project manager of the Department of Municipal Infrastructure of the bank’s head office in Frankfurt Nikolaye Tust, technical engineer of the Department of Municipal Infrastructure of the bank’s head office Thomas Wolf and project manager of the bank’s office in Kyiv Lyudmyla Klyapchuk got acquainted with the performance potential of the enterprise, manufacturing process, management structure and principles of economic policy. Mission representatives offered to attract German experts and to study more thoroughly technical and economical condition of the enterprise, its potential in determination of available resources that can be employed in the investment project implementation.
Chernivtsi Fulfilled The Budget 105.9 Percent
During January and February of this year the city consolidated budget raised more than UAH 82.5 million i.e. 105.0 of the planned amount. It’s UAH 4.3 million more than during the first two months of the previous year. This was announced by the Vice Mayor, Head of the Revenue Department Yevhen Prokopets. UAH 66.1 million or 106.4 of the planned amount came into the city budget pool accounting transfers. In excess of the plan, budget got near UAH 4 million. During the last two months about UAH 8.5 million of equalization subsidies were received i.e. 100 percent planned, but more than 1 million social security transfers from the country budget are not still received in full amount. Chernivtsi local budgets pool during two months received near UAH 45 million of taxes and charges transfers not included i.e.
Contest Will Define Investors Who Are To Implement Six Investment Projects in Chernivtsi
On February, 3 expert investment committee selected six objects for the investment contest. They are to be approved by the Executive Committee and ratified by the City Council. In particular, investors will be offered to construct in the Sadhora district a wholesale agricultural market and an agrarian commodity exchange on the plot of land that has an area of approximately 2 hectares. The wholesale market is to have a modern infrastructure, arranged places for storage and sale of agricultural products and also a service advisory centre for making contracts with the commodity producers. Anticipated volume of investments is USD 1 million. Three investment offers are planned to be carried out in the central part of the city. Investors are proposed to reconstruct the square on the crossing of Ruska and Zelena streets.
Suceava Chernivtsi: Days of Cultural Unity
Days of Cultural Dialogue Suceava Chernivtsi were held on December 27-28, 2008 in the Romanian city of Suceava in the framework of ÒÀѲS project Joint Cultural Heritage implemented by Chernivtsi City Council. The Romanian neighbours got acquainted with the works of craftsmen and of Bukovyna. The crafts were presented by Ivan Honchar from Kobolchyn, Liubov Vaskul from Mykhal’cha, Volodymyr Voronchak from Vyzhnytsia, Yevdokiya Vizniuk from Kamianka, Yarolslava Scherban’ from Kitsman, Mykola Shkribliak and Ivan Teren from Chernivtsi. Embroidered blouses, shirts, skirts, napkins and towels, woven goods, painted eggs, glass beads embroidery, woodcrafts, ceramics this is not the full list of works brought by talented Ukrainian craftsmen. These days became a real holiday for citizens of Suceava when together with Cheremshyna folk group from Vashkivtsi and Oberig folk group from Zastavna various Romanian folk groups demonstrated their art on the main city stage.
Kobzar Shop Will Remain a Bookstore
The Kobzar shop after restoration must remain a bookstore, in the words of Mayor of Chernivtsi Mykola Fedoruk. The city has enough various shops, bars, restaurants, banks and their branch offices, so restructuring of shops should be treated reasonably and with caution. Especially it deals with shops in the downtown, where Chernivtsi citizens and guests are used to buy books and works of art. Owners of these shops should act with respect to historic and cultural traditions of Chernivtsi.
Smoking Will Be Forbidden in the Pedestrian Street
Regulations giving O.Kobylians’ka Street the status of street of high culture and order is being elaborated by Chernivtsi City Council. According to the requirements of the citizens one of the demands in the regulations is inclusion of the street into the list of places were it is forbidden to smoke. A regulatory act on this issue is being prepared by the Department of Housing and Communal Services. It will undergo public discussion in the 1st-2nd quarter of 2009.
City Budget in 2009 Will Constitute UAH 549 Million. Ascetic But Viable
The project of city budget for 2009 was almost unanimously adopted by the session of Chernivtsi City Council on January 15. Chernivtsi city budget for 2009 will be deficit-free, general amount of its revenues will constitute UAH 548,7 million, including revenues amount of general fund UAH 444,8 million, special fund UAH 103,9 million. Vice-Mayor of Chernivtsi, Head of Department of Finance of Chernivtsi City Council Mr. Yevhen Prokopets’ has informed that the amount of basket I of city budget constitutes UAH 217,7 million this is UAH 9.2 million less than in 2008. Decrease of these revenues is caused by expected lessening of revenues of physical persons tax due to shortened personnel payment funds during crisis. Amount of basket II in this year constitutes UAH 81,2 million this is UAH 58 million less than in 2008. It is planned to collect local taxes and fees for the sum of UAH 23,5 million this is UAH 7 million more than lest year.
