Report about final conference of the TACIS project Final Conference of the TACIS project Joint Cultural Heritage was held in Chernivtsi on March, 23-24 2010 with the Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, project manager of the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine Tetiana Shulha, Romanian project partners Mayor of Campulung Moldovenesc Suceava county of Romania Gabriel Constantin Serban, Suceava City Council deputies Cesar Olariu and Marcu Razvan, director of the Cultural Centre Bukovyna Vasile Ursachi, Suceava county Director of Directorate for Culture and Heritage Daniel Hrenciuc, representatives of target groups of the project, guests from neighboring regions of Ukraine and Moldova. Deputy Mayor of Chernivtsi Mykola Popadiuk, Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, a diplomatic councilor of the Consulate General of Romania to Chernivtsi Dorin Popescu addressed welcome speeches to the audience.




European Union Ambassador to Ukraine visited Bukovyna

European Union Ambassador to Ukraine visited Bukovyna On March, 23 the Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Mr. Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira visited Chernivtsi at the invitation of Chernivtsi City Council. His visit was intended to learn the results of the TACIS project Joint Cultural Heritage, attend the final conference as well as to get acquainted with Bukovyna. Project Joint Cultural Heritage is implemented by Chernivtsi City Council with financial support of the European Union in the framework of the Neighborhood Program Romania - Ukraine. The project included a series of cultural, promotional and tourist events: International Folk Festival Bukovynian Meetings, International Festival of Crafts Bukovynian Springs, Days of Cultural Dialogue Chernivtsi - Suceava, trans-cultural exchanges, publishing of books, preparation and broadcasting of films about Bukovyna, presentation of the international tourist route. Due to the project new interesting traditions appeared in Bukovyna aiming at preservation of the authentic culture and attraction of tourists.




In Chernivtsi New Tourist Route Was Introduced

In Chernivtsi New Tourist Route Was Introduced Chernivtsi City Council with support of the European Commission realizes the TACIS project Joint Cultural Heritage: Ukraine-Romania. Within the framework of the project a presentation of the international tourist route of the same name was dedicated to the development of cross-border cultural tourism. The route is aimed at providing of high-quality tourist services, which are skillfully combined with elements of the authentic Bukovynian culture. Representatives of the organizations-partners of the project: cultural centre Bukovyna, City Councils of the cities of Suceava and Campulung Moldovenesc Romania, tourist companies, Institute of Tourism, private hotels, mass media of Suceava county were invited to the presentation of the project. From the Ukrainian side Deputy Mayor Mykola Popadyuk, Consul General of Romania to Chernivtsi Tetyana Popa, Vice-Consul of Romania to Chernivtsi Eleonora Moldovan, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Petro Bryzhak, members of the project working-group, representatives of the tourist sector of Chernivtsi region participated in it.




Presentation of the International Tourist Routes

Presentation of the International Tourist Routes Presentation of the International Tourist Routes Joint Cultural Heritage: Ukraine-Romania Project of Chernivtsi City Council Popularization of Joint Cultural Heritage between Communities in Cross-Border Region Chernivtsi - Suceava has been implemented since August 2008. Partners of the project are City Councils of the cities of Suceava and Campulung Moldovenesc in Romania. For the given period a range of culture and national-art events has been embedded. They’re aimed at preservation, revival and popularization of the folklore traditions of poly-ethnic Bukovyna, both Northern and Southern. The final result of the project events, which are aimed at establishment of contacts between nations and mutual spiritual enrichment, became working out of the tourist route Joint Cultural Heritage: Ukraine-Romania. The route comprises two elements: Bukovyna in Cultural Diversity and Ways of Bukovynian Crafts. The first route unites national houses of Chernivtsi and Suceava as centers of cultural activity of national communities, unique architectural and cultural monuments, and nuclei of culture, where traditional rituals and events of poly-ethnic Bukovyna will be represented to the tourists.

Project TACIS “Joint Cultural Heritage”: Building Bridges, Reviving Traditions The events of the TACIS project Joint Cultural Heritage took place during the City Days on October, 3-4. They included the 20th jubilee International folk festival Bukovynian Meetings, 2nd International festival Bukovynian Springs forum of the national communities of Bukovyna and presentation of the project results books, film and database. This year’s festival Bukovynian Meetings was carried out particularly solemnly. In its jubilee the festival gathered in the capital of Bukovyna 17 Ukrainian and 7 foreign folk groups that represent poly-ethnic communities of Ukraine, Romania, Poland, and Slovakia. The festive event aimed at popularization of the traditional Bukovynian culture enjoyed great popularity both among Chernivtsi audience and numerous guests and tourists. 150 foreign and 500 Ukrainian participants represented poly-ethnic folklore on the streets and squares of the city on pedestrian Olha Kobylyanska Street and on the open stage of Philharmonic Square.




Suceava Chernivtsi: Days of Cultural Unity

Suceava – Chernivtsi: Days of Cultural Unity Days of Cultural Dialogue Suceava Chernivtsi were held on December 27-28, 2008 in the Romanian city of Suceava in the framework of ÒÀѲS project Joint Cultural Heritage implemented by Chernivtsi City Council. The Romanian neighbours got acquainted with the works of craftsmen and of Bukovyna. The crafts were presented by Ivan Honchar from Kobolchyn, Liubov Vaskul from Mykhal’cha, Volodymyr Voronchak from Vyzhnytsia, Yevdokiya Vizniuk from Kamianka, Yarolslava Scherban’ from Kitsman, Mykola Shkribliak and Ivan Teren from Chernivtsi. Embroidered blouses, shirts, skirts, napkins and towels, woven goods, painted eggs, glass beads embroidery, woodcrafts, ceramics this is not the full list of works brought by talented Ukrainian craftsmen. These days became a real holiday for citizens of Suceava when together with Cheremshyna folk group from Vashkivtsi and Oberig folk group from Zastavna various Romanian folk groups demonstrated their art on the main city stage.
