Presentation of the International Tourist Routes “Joint Cultural Heritage: Ukraine-Romania”
Project of Chernivtsi City Council “Popularization of Joint Cultural Heritage between Communities in Cross-Border Region Chernivtsi - Suceava” has been implemented since August 2008. Partners of the project are City Councils of the cities of Suceava and Campulung Moldovenesc in Romania.
For the given period a range of culture and national-art events has been embedded. They’re aimed at preservation, revival and popularization of the folklore traditions of poly-ethnic Bukovyna, both Northern and Southern.
The final result of the project events, which are aimed at establishment of contacts between nations and mutual spiritual enrichment, became working out of the tourist route “Joint Cultural Heritage: Ukraine-Romania”. The route comprises two elements: “Bukovyna in Cultural Diversity” and “Ways of Bukovynian Crafts”.
The first route unites national houses of Chernivtsi and Suceava as centers of cultural activity of national communities, unique architectural and cultural monuments, and nuclei of culture, where traditional rituals and events of poly-ethnic Bukovyna will be represented to the tourists.
The second one will lay the way of national art between Ukraine and Romania. It includes museums and workshops of craftsmen where tourists will be able not only to observe how national masterpieces are created, but also try to make some with their own hands.
