More Than UAH 14 Million Is Needed for Major Repairs and Reconstruction of Balconies

The session of the City Council approved program of major repairs and reconstruction of the individual bearing constructive elements of the houses (balconies, balcony galleries and driers) in Chernivtsi for 2010-2012 years. It is aimed at providing of secure and reliable exploitation of the individual bearing constructive elements of the buildings. The program is financed at the expense of costs of the state, city and district budgets, and also costs of proprietors of the houses, not habitable premises, tenants, and other buildings enlisted according to the legislation in force. The program will be fulfilled by the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council, City District Councils with assistance of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine.
According to the program, it is planned to majorly repair 1102 balconies, 131 balcony galleries, and 134 driers in 312 buildings to the general amount of UAH 14 million 364 thousand (UAH 9 million 164 thousand from the state budget, UAH 5.2 million from the Chernivtsi budget) for three years. Major repairs of the constructions protruding from the facades will be carried out only upon availability of the design and estimate documentation. First of all balconies and balcony galleries that are in repair condition will be reconstructed. Housing and communal services will coordinate offers concerning replacement of the depreciated reinforced concrete constructions of the driers and balconies with the new ones with the Board of City Building and Architecture of the Department of Town Planning and Land Relations of the City Council and in case of location of the house in the historical areas – with the Office of Monuments of Architecture.
