Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper “The Day” Larysa Ivshyna Was On the Visit to the Municipa

The other November day, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “The Day” Larysa Ivshyna was on the visit to the Municipal A. Dobryasnskyi library. She visited this establishment two years ago and was pleasantly surprised that in the center of the city there was such a unique library. An article about Anatoliy Dobryanskyi had immediately appeared in the periodical “The Day”. This time Larysa acquainted herself with the room-library of Peter Demant. Life destiny of the writer and former prisoner of the GULAG is described in the biographical books of Vernon Kress (Peter Demant). Mrs. Larysa found on the shelves of his library many books that arose her scientific interest, particularly about the system of the GULAG and how people survived there.
As a gift to the Municipal library Larysa Ivshyna presented the book “Extract 150” in two parts. The most prominent articles from the newspaper “The Day” were included into the book.
One more present was the book “Ave, Europa!”: articles, reports, publicist works (1989-2008) by professor of Rome University “La Sapienza”, research worker of the Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Oksana Pakhlyovska. Key topic of the book is cultural reintegration of Ukraine into Europe as a precondition of its political integration.
The recently published in Lutsk book by Anatoliy Svidzynskyi (nephew of Ukrainian poet Volodymyr Svidzynskyi) “Synergetic concept of culture” will also be interesting. The monograph in 700 pages is dedicated to a wide range of issues of the history of culture that concern both sciences and humanities.
Teachers, students, postgraduate students, journalists and all interested readers will benefit from these incomings into the library funds.
